Privacy Policy — fuAI
Last updated: October 25, 2026. Owner contact: iujoseph972@gmail.com.
fuAI is a browser extension that labels, blurs or hides content that shows evidence of being AI-generated. It is built to work entirely on your device.
What we collect
Nothing. fuAI has no servers that receive your data, no analytics, no tracking, no advertising, and no account.
What the extension processes on your device
- Images and video posters on pages you visit (on supported sites, or all sites if you turn that on). To check an image the browser has already loaded, the extension downloads it again (its highest-resolution version listed by the page, from the same site), without cookies, and reads its metadata and Content Credentials. It may also run a small AI-detection model on it. This all happens inside your browser. The re-downloaded bytes are not written to disk, and redirects and local-network addresses are refused.
- Videos on pages you visit. The extension takes a few still frames from a video that is playing and runs the same on-device model on them. When the page doesn't allow frames to be read directly (for example video tiles in a grid), it downloads the first few megabytes of that video file from the same address, without cookies, samples a few frames from it in memory, and discards it. Nothing is written to disk.
- Platform labels such as YouTube's "Made with AI" or Instagram's "AI info", read from the page.
- Local results cache. Results are stored in your browser under a one-way hash of the image address (not the address itself), for up to 14 days. Clear it any time by removing the extension.
- Account and post memory (Instagram, Facebook, Threads). To recognise accounts whose posts the platform repeatedly labels as AI, the extension keeps salted one-way hashes of account and post identifiers (with a random salt unique to your install), plus counts. Entries expire after 90 days. "Clear local history" in the popup deletes them immediately.
- Settings and counters. Your mode, site exceptions, and counts of items labeled or filtered. Settings sync between your own Chrome profiles through Chrome's built-in sync, if you have it enabled. Counts stay on the device.
What we never do
- We never upload pages, images, text, URLs or browsing history to us or to anyone else.
- We never sell, share or transfer user data, and never use it for advertising, creditworthiness or lending, or any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose.
- We never read form fields, passwords, or private messages.
Optional features that would use a server (not active)
If we add an optional "Deep check" or account features, they will be off by default. They will ask you before each use, show exactly what is sent, and this policy will be updated before release.
Chrome Web Store User Data Policy
The use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Children
The extension does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
We'll update the date above and describe material changes in the extension's release notes.
